One killed in vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. (ENN) — Lafayette Police is investigating a major vehicle accident in Lafayette. The crash involved a motorcycle and a truck, authorities say.

The crash occurred as a driver was traveling north in the 4000 block of Ambassador Caffery Parkway at 7:48pm., on Thursday evening, police say. As the driver was turning, they crossed into the other lane, striking the driver of another vehicle. The driver that was struck was pronounced dead on scene and has since been identified as Ronnie Lee Trahan, 34, of Maurice, LA.

The driver of the north-traveling vehicle was brought to the ATAC command bus and submitted a voluntary breath sample of 0.000g%BAC.  

This crash remains under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department Traffic Division.
