Police in pursuit of one suspect involved in multiple thefts, burglaries in Acadia Parish


UPDATE, June 5 12:20 a.m.: Police were in a pursuit by foot down St. Angela Drive near Branch against one male suspect. Updates to come.


BRANCH, La. (ENN) -- Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office deputies are reportedly scoping the area after unknown individuals broke into vehicles and stole property, including ATVS, in Branch on Tuesday night.


According to our sources, multiple police units are on the lookout near Branch Hwy. in Acadia Parish following the reports of multiple burgularies in the area. One victim tells ENN that the individuals broke into their vehicles around 10:30 p.m. on Linden Grove Rd., off of Branch Hwy. One report claims that the individuals stole their side-by-side and four-wheeler, however, they were later found after the suspects abandonded them.


There has also been other occurences and reports of thefts, burglaries in surrounding areas, like Mire and Church Point.


At this time, there is no description of the individuals and police have not been able to confirm exactly how many subjects there is, however, they are believed to be driving a silver pick-up truck that is, reportedly, "full of mud."
