
LAF. PARISH, La. (ENN) -- A Texas motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving multiple motorcycles and a car on I-10 near Scott on Saturday.
Police say the crash occurred around 4 p.m. on February 24 on I-10 Westbound at mile marker 96, west of Scott.
Micheal L. Grady, 42, of Waco, TX, was killed in the crash.
Grady was traveling west on I-10 in the left lane when the front of his Motorcycle struck the rear of a westbound Nissan Murano, also traveling in the left lane. The impact caused the Nissan and the Harley-Davidson to exit the roadway. Upon doing so, Grady was ejected from the motorcycle. Following the initial crash, several other motorcyclists were involved in a separate crash near the scene.
Helmet usage on the part of Grady is unknown. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Nissan was not injured.
The motorcyclists involved in the separate secondary crash were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Impairment on the part of Grady is unknown, but a standard toxicology sample was submitted for analysis. The driver of the Nissan was not injured and submitted a breath sample indicating no alcohol present.
