Local schools districts to remain closed Thursday due to weather conditions: list

(ENN)— Acadiana School Closures Extended Through Thursday Amid Winter Weather Concerns


As Acadiana braces for an incoming winter blast, several school districts and institutions that had initially planned to close on Tuesday and Wednesday have now extended their closures through Thursday. The decision comes in light of ongoing weather predictions and safety concerns for students and staff.


The following school districts and institutions have announced closures for Thursday:

Acadia Parish Schools

Calcasieu Parish Schools

Evangeline Parish Schools

Iberia Parish Schools

Jeff Davis Parish Schools

Lafayette Parish Schools

St. Landry Parish Schools

St. Martin Parish Schools

St. Mary Parish Schools

Vermilion Parish Schools


Additionally, several private and charter schools, as well as colleges, are also extending their closures:

• Acadiana Christian School (New Iberia)

• Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy

(Youngsville)

• Diocese of Lafayette catholic schools

• Lafayette Christian Academy

• Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy (both campuses)

• Vermilion Charter Academy

• LSU Eunice (including satellite campuses in Lafayette and Alexandria)
