Lafayette judge found dead, sources say

LAFAYETTE, La. (ENN) — Judge Jules Edwards of the Lafayette City Court has died at the age of 66, reports say. Sources say he was found dead.

Lafayette Mayor-President Monique Boulet interrupted the city council meeting this evening to share the news, asking for the meeting to pause for a moment of silence in his honor.

"He was a fierce advocate and leader in our community," Boulet said.
