SCOTT, LA (EVEN NEWS)- Scott Fire Department, Carencro Fire Department, and more departments responded to the scene of a fire in the backyard of a residence in the 500 block of LA Hwy 93 in Scott.
The fire originated in a camper in the backyard, spreading the a nearby shed and fence.
"I heard an explosion, then I ran outside and could not see nothing but black smoke and flames," EVEN News' Even St. Julien stated. He lives not far from the fire. The cause of the explosion is unknown as of now.
Police blocked off the 500-600 block of the roadway and motorists were turned away. Officials say that it will take time for them to come up with a conclusive answer as to why the fire began.
No one was home.
