Car caught fire and exploded in Lafayette Parish

SCOTT, La. (ENN) -- Fire officials are on the scene of a vehicle fire in Lafayette Parish on Tuesday afternoon.

Report says that a car initially caught fire then exploded. The incident occurred in the 300 block of Rue Scholastique in Scott.

Images sent to EVEN News Network show that a fire truck got stuck in a ditch near the fire, but was safely pulled out.

No injuries have been reported at this time and the cause of the fire is unknown as of now.
